After the workshop

The after-effects of an empowering workshop are

apparent.

Most people are too busy to learn something new, due to the learning curve.

As our workshops are step-by-step, we pride ourselves on our "speed-learning" experiences, setting colleagues up to succeed and therefore feel inspired to learn more in their own time.

Avril booked an online origami team building workshop for her team to celebrate a Birthday, and the next day, she went on to make this modular star using old book pages, and sent us a photo.

She said "Thank you very much indeed for all your hard work in getting us to today's class. The class was fun. I know we were all very quiet, but we were concentrating. Great fun and you are a terrific host! Very upbeat 🙂. I was inspired so I've gone on and made this star!"

In-person team building workshop

Lana also went on to make another modular origami star with her daughter.

She remembered the fold steps but with the help of our step-by-step manual, was able to share mindfulness with her family.

"Addictive! Taught my daughter - so much fun!"

Online Zentangle workshop

And Amy was inspired by our Zentangle workshop, put on by her employer, The British Red Cross.

She said:

"Thank you so much for the workshop this morning on zentangle! :) I signed up as I liked the sound of the words untangle zentangle and had honestly forgotten about it, until last night when I looked up zentangle and saw pictures of designs online and just thought I'm so happy I've signed up to this as this is a bit of me. I've always enjoyed colouring intricate pictures and adding more detail with black fineliners and never really felt that drawing was my forte. Now, having seen how easy zentangle is, I enjoyed the whole process and really feel it is something I can have a go at.

I have felt inspired - in the new year my local library is doing an art class on zentangle, and as I now know just what zentangling is, I am definitely planning to sign up. There's also a craft shop opening in my town, meaning I can stock up on supplies. Almost like it's meant to be, so glad I took the chance and came to the Red Cross Festival class with yourself now.

Thank You!

I have a fun workshop where we make the world record-holding paper plane. The design was created by John Collins and thrown by Joe Ayoob, and set the Guinness World Record in California in 2012. The world record was beaten in December 2022! Yes it was! And in fact it was beaten in April 2022 as well. So if you would like to learn to make the third-longest distance flown by a paper plane, I'm your gal!

"Invented" in 2014 by Pavel Piskarev, Neurographica combines subconscious and conscious drawing to create a piece of art designed to help you problem-solve. By putting our concern on a piece of paper in the form of a subconscious line, and then calming harsh thoughts through the next phase of drawing, we are interrupting our natural desire to try and fix the problem there and then. Have you ever had your best ideas when you remove yourself from the situation? You go for a walk, or chat to a friend and bingo - it comes to you. That is the idea behind this relaxing, and meditative process.
